This past Saturday, Rotarians and other volunteers from the community served 434 participants with vital health screening at the 9Health Fair. It was quite the scene with numerous vision, spinal, nutrition, stress management and many other screenings being provided entirely free of cost by health professionals. It takes a village to put on this event!
Without these volunteer efforts, this event would not exist in our community! In our area of Registration and Online Registration, there were 49 individual volunteers who worked a minimum of 2 hours each. I estimate between all the efforts over the last 6 weeks there were no less than 230 hours of volunteer effort invested in just our one area of service. That number makes it hard to fathom how much time was spend by all the other departments as well.
Approximately 996 Blood tests will be performed as well as an immeasurable amount of advice, counseling and health related information dispensed. There is no telling what a difference this health information may make in the lives of these participants.
