What a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas- Jann Pitcher and her band of merry elves from Jann Pitcher Real Estate surprised our “Feed Our Children” kids with carefully selected and beautifully wrapped gifts. For the second straight year these fantastic folks have thrown a Christmas party for our little partners and topped off the event with presents for all the participants. Jann and her crew demonstrate that service to community does not take a holiday!
Throughout the school-year, The Feed Our Children Program provides enough kid-friendly food to the 3rd and 4th graders and their siblings each Friday for the weekend. It came to the attention of Jo Bridges and Lassie Olin through contacts with teachers that the children were coming to school on Monday REALLY hungry! These easy to prepare or ready to eat foods provide the children and their sisters and brothers at least some nutrition when parents may be away working on the weekends, or simply to help out a stressed grocery budget for a family in need. The Noon Rotary and Mountain Morning Rotary both participate in purchasing, packing and delivering these backpacks. Other folks in the community have also contributed their time to volunteer. Still others support the program with money contributions. Our thanks to the team at Jann Pitcher Realty for making Christmas a little merrier for these children!
