Pagosa Springs Rotary ClubFeed Our Children
The Pagosa Springs Rotary, along with generous contributions from the community, supports the Feed Our Children Backpack Program. More than 22 million children receive free or reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program and the National School Breakfast Program. For many of these children, school meals may be the only meals they eat.
With the Program year just beginning, it appears that the Rotary Feed Our Children will make an meaningful impact on the lives of 17 families, 61 children. This may be a record year for need in our community. The average cost per backpack family is $375 during the school year. That means that these 3rd and 4th grade students carry home a pack with 'kid-friendly' food for the weekend for not only themselves but their siblings as well.
