President Kim recognized visitors and visiting Rotarians as well as commended Sam Pittmon and Neal Johnson regarding the outstanding results of the World Polio Drive in front of City Market!!  Over 600 was raised that day from public contributions as well as $1,000 from Rotarians!

She also thanked Jann Pitcher and David Cammack for their work collecting candy that had been contributed by Rotarians and delivering it to the families that live in the Mesa Heights area.  Nick Tallent mentioned that increasingly, these residents are young families that would be hard pressed to allocated enough money to purchase the treat or treat goodies for so many children that frequent this area on Halloween.

Another kind of trick or treating was going on last week as well.  Rotarians were encouraged to bring the types of 'kid-friendly' food that is distributed each week for the Feed Our Children program.  Jo Bridges updated us about the current recipients being 15 families with 47 children who are benefiting from these efforts each and every week throughout the school year.

Shellie Peterson, on behalf of JoAnn Laird, reminded us that the annual 3rd grade dictionary event is coming up soon!  Please keep in mind that on November 16th, immediately following the meeting, we will be gathering at the Elementary School for this fun annual event!

In other news, we congratulated Nick Tallent on his upcoming birthday, having accomplished the grand total years of 32 on planet earth!  Likewise, we look forward to Neal Johnson reaching 75 years later in the same week.  (Not to steal the thunder of our marvelous Sarge of Arms, who will do doubt get us singing to those same souls upon her and Jeff's return from Texas, watching their most handsome grandson play football!

Finally, getting back to the silliness....Sam Pittmon took best of show for the male costume.  I think he was Fryer Tuck....Ramona Tschaar took first place for the women's division although with a close runner up of Jo Bridges, who had truly made the effort to walk on broken glass with all her cats!

The hippie generation took a tie for the couples division!  Greg and Sherri Booher and Donna and Greg Wynn were going to get together later to share a bottle of wine and....cheerios.
