Rotary District 5470's District Governor will address the club

Dr. Whittney Smythe-Smith holds an undergraduate degree from Creighton University, an MBA from Colorado Mesa University, and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Bellevue University. In 2019, she founded The Gallium Group, a human resources consulting firm serving a diverse range of organizations based in or operating throughout Colorado.

Whittney is the Executive Director of KidSight Colorado, a nonprofit dedicated to providing vision screenings and glasses to children across the state. She currently lives in Leadville, Colorado, where she remains deeply involved in her local and regional communities.

A committed Rotarian, Whittney is a Past President of the Redlands Rotary Club in Grand Junction and a former Assistant Governor for the Grand Valley Rotary Clubs. She made history by becoming the youngest person to serve as District Governor of Rotary District 5470 during the 2024–2025 term.

Her passion for service extends beyond Rotary. Whittney is an active member and two-year President of the Leadville Lions Club, while also serving as the Colorado 6W District Marketing Chair and Webmaster. In 2025–2026, she will step into the role of District Governor for the Colorado 6W Lions District, making her the first known individual in the United States to serve as District Governor for two separate service organizations in consecutive years.

In addition to her leadership with Rotary and Lions, Whittney serves as President of the Colorado Lions Camp and as Lake County’s voting representative on the Club 20 Board of Directors, where she also sits on the executive nomination committee. Although she completed her term with the Colorado Mesa University Alumni Association Board of Directors in 2022, she remains actively involved with CMU’s MBA Alumni Chapter.
