Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs mobilizes to aid disaster relief for Hurricane Helene victims

By Terri House
The Pagosa Springs Rotary Club is rallying support to provide critical aid to communities devastated by Hurricane Helene, which has left a trail of destruction across Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. As “People of Action,” Rotarians are stepping in to offer assistance where it is needed most, and the community’s contributions can play a vital role in these efforts.
Hurricane Helene has severely impacted countless families, causing widespread damage to homes, businesses, and infrastructure. The immediate needs in the hardest-hit areas include food, clean water, medical supplies, and shelter. In response, Rotary members across the country are not only contributing financial resources but also volunteering their time and expertise to assist in the relief and rebuilding efforts.
In moments like this, we stand ready to make a difference. By supporting the relief efforts, we can provide tangible aid and hope to families in dire need.
The Pagosa Springs Rotary Community Assistance Fund (CAF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is currently collecting donations to fund disaster relief for those affected by Hurricane Helene. All contributions will directly support relief efforts, including the distribution of food, medical supplies, and support for long-term recovery initiatives. Donations may be tax-deductible for U.S. residents, in accordance with IRS regulations.

In the wake of disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, and fires, the swift mobilization of resources is essential. Rotary clubs, with their vast network and ability to respond quickly, are uniquely positioned to provide humanitarian aid. During this critical time, cash donations are the most effective way to help, allowing Rotary to purchase essential supplies and allocate resources to where they are needed most.
“As Rotarians, we believe in the power of working together to serve those in need,” said Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs President Rob Foster. “Whether we are donating funds or volunteering our skills, we aim to make a positive and lasting impact. Now is the time for all of us to come together and show the world what the magic of Rotary is all about. One hundred percent of your donation goes directly to those in need, with no deductions for administrative costs. Rotary members volunteer their time and expertise, ensuring that every dollar makes the maximum impact on disaster relief efforts."
