Rotarians from Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs work alongside other local volunteers on Saturday, May 18, as part of a world-wide effort to give back to their communities. In Pagosa Springs, the focus was picking up trash along U.S. 160 on Put Hill and working on garden improvements at Rotary Park located next to the Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership domes. “Service” is at the core of Rotary’s mission. This unprecedented day of giving back involved more than 800 Rotary clubs and 30,000 Rotarians across the United States and seven countries, from Colorado to Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Connecticut and New York in the United States, plus the countries of Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, Netherlands and the United Kingdom volunteered in their communities for the Rotary Day of Service, collecting clothes for homeless, picking up litter, refurbishing parks, and, much, much more.
